Is RxWellness a Walk-In Chiropractor?

Is RxWellness a walk-in Chiropractor? The short answer…no. The long answer is it depends on your current situation and patient status. Are you a new patient; an existing patient; were you involved in an auto accident; do you have a worker’s compensation claim number; how is your level of pain; and can you walk easily? We will take all these conditions and a variety of other factors into consideration when you call in need of an emergency appointment. Please note, all our RxWellness Spine & Health offices across Maryland and Virginia prefer when you make an appointment in advance, however, we understand that sometimes situations pop up that are outside your control, and in those unique instances, we will do every we can to accommodate your needs. Please be aware, however, that without an appointment we cannot guarantee you a time to consult with a chiropractor, but all our practice managers across all our offices work very hard to satisfy as many spontaneous patients as possible.

New Patients vs. Existing Patients

To give you a little more information on the possibility of securing a walk-in appointment, you must first understand our different appointment structures. Your appointments can be broken down into three distinct categories: Initial consultation, review appointment, and regular visits. So, when trying to determine is RxWellness a walk-in chiropractor, you must first determine where you fit.

The initial consultation is what you will experience on your very first day at RxWellness Spine & Health. This is when you explain the reason for your visit, providing even the tiniest detail. This will help the chiropractor gain an understanding of your discomfort, so they are able to craft the most comprehensive treatment plan for you. The doctor will also perform a variety of different examinations to give them a better understanding of your discomfort, they may also recommend x-rays. The goal of this first visit is for you and the doctor to exchange necessary information, and for you to receive treatment to reduce some symptoms of pain. The entire process can take as little as thirty minutes and up to 45 minutes.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

The Review appointment is when the doctor goes over all the information they acquired from your first visit. They will discuss your x-ray, your adjustments, and compare your level of pain from the initial consultation to now. They will also go over the recommended treatment plan, the necessary number of visits, your insurance coverage, other payment options, and answer any additional questions you have. This visit often lasts thirty minutes.

The regular visits are every visit after the review consultation and will consist of a combination of techniques that the doctors and massage therapists believe will give you the most results in the shortest possible time frame. These appointments may include a chiropractic adjustment, active release technique, soft tissue manipulation, cupping, STIM, or something else entirely. At this point, the doctor has already explained your diagnosis, recommended your treatment plan, and you have accepted care. These visits can last 15 minutes-20 minutes.

As a side note: if you are looking for a walk-in appointment, it is generally easier to accommodate the fifteen-minute time slot of our regular patient than the intensive consultation and review necessary for the first two visits.

Auto-Accident Patients

If you are ever involved in an auto accident, we understand how important it is for you to get checked out immediately. Your chances of a quicker recovery are significantly improved when you immediately begin working with a chiropractic professional. At RxWellness Spine & Health, we are very responsive to our patient’s needs, and we can usually schedule most same-day auto accident visits. If you sustained something like whiplash, which is the most common auto accident injury, then the muscles in your neck are possibly torn and the spine misaligned. Unfortunately, this can cause a tremendous amount of pain that can last years if left untreated. When you call to book an appointment, we will try to have you consult with a chiropractor immediately and begin treatment right away!

What Makes RxWellness Different

If you’ve ever been to a traditional doctor’s office, you may be familiar with their conservative approach to appointment making, however, at RxWellness Spine & Health, we have modernized the entire process and taken healthcare into the new age. When you make your first appointment, we will email you all the necessary forms, so you can take your time filling them out at home. This way, once you arrive you can dive straight into your appointment. Regular patients are also able to simply check themselves on easy-to-use tablets.
