Health and Wellness are often used interchangeably, but there is a subtle difference in their meaning. Health is your current state of being, how you feel mentally, emotionally, and physically at any given time. Wellness is how you will be in the long run. Wellness is your eating habits, your exercise schedule, your emotional intelligence, and your attitude towards proactive care. Wellness requires forethought, routine, and a dedicated team in your corner. If you are looking to take a more active role in your long-term well-being, then schedule a consultation and begin working with the RxWellness Spine & Health-top-rated wellness center.

What Is RxWellness Spine & Health
RxWellness Spine & Health-top-rated wellness center located throughout Virginia and Maryland, and is easily accessible from the DMV. We specialize in natural, holistic, and non-invasive treatment methods. We approach each patient as an individual by trying to understand their list of presented symptoms, so we can then craft a personalized care plan to help them see the most relief. We believe in treating the patient as a whole and will therefore pile together a complete list of their symptoms, lifestyle activities, and any other factors that might be interfering with their health and wellness. We will use all this information to guide our recommended treatments. Our goal is to address conditions at the source, heal any problems, and reduce reliance on medication. We believe that under the right conditions, the body has everything it needs to heal itself, and at RxWellness Spine & Health, we work hard to create those right conditions.
Why We Call Ourselves a Wellness center
The World Health Organization defines wellness as, “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity,” but what exactly does that mean? For example, an avid runner might be healthy enough to run miles, break personal bests, and beat their friends. However, if that runner is not actively taking care of their muscles, joints, and spine health, they will eventually sustain some type of injury, either accidental or from repetitive use, that will negatively impact their ability to run as effectively. Simply stated, health is how you feel now, and wellness is the process that will determine how you will feel in the future. This is why we call ourselves a wellness care center. We treat our patients with their long-term health in mind.
Traditional medicine often focuses on health. They aim to help you feel better, without much focus on keeping you that way. When you work with the RxWellness Spine & Health wellness team, we target the source of your discomfort, provide useful information on how to keep your body functioning at its most efficient level, and help you take a proactive approach to reach your long-term wellness goals. We utilize spinal adjustments as a way to reduce discomfort, and as a way to correct misalignment and prevent future complications. We promote maintenance care in the form of adjustments, massage therapy, dry needling, and other useful treatments that promote wellness throughout the body.

What We Offer
Chiropractic Adjustments: Chiropractic adjustments consist of manual manipulation of the spine and joints to improve mobility, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the communication pathways between the nervous system. The goal of each adjustment is to correct misalignment, relieve subluxations, and help the patients function with less pain in the long run.
Massage Therapy: Sometimes stress or injury can cause the muscles to shorten into unnaturally painful positions that reduce mobility, place pressure on the nerves, and pull the spine and joints out of their correct position. The massage therapist uses soft tissue manipulation to release tension in the muscles and allow them to relax into their natural positions. Combining massage therapy with chiropractic care improves the benefits of the adjustment and reduces the patient’s overall recovery time.

Dry Needling: Dry needling is a very effective method for treating musculoskeletal issues on a deeper level. The doctor uses tiny filiform needles to target trigger points, improve blood flow, and circulation. Dry needling can be used to target deeper structured muscles where massage therapy might be ineffective or insufficient.
Decompression Therapy: Spinal decompression is a nonsurgical method that uses a specially designed table, known as a traction table, to help realign and gently stretch the spine. Spinal decompression is used in addition to chiropractic adjustments to relieve pain and pressure of the nerves. It is extremely useful for treating degenerating, herniated, or bulging discs.
Electrotherapy: Electrotherapy is a form of treatment that uses electrical impulses to repair damaged tissue, stimulate muscles, increase sensation, and strengthen muscle. It can be used to effectively treat conditions that cause swelling, such as a sprained ankle or tennis elbow.
