If your spine is healthy and properly aligned, the rest of your body’s systems will naturally follow. At RxWellness Spine & Health, we operate under the philosophy that if we can maintain your spinal heath, we can preserve your body’s overall health. Some of the most common issues reported by our patients can be traced back to a misaligned spine, and if the spine is misaligned, the body’s communication pathway is hindered, and this hindrance can result in a variety of other complications. For example, some problems that can be traced back to spinal misalignment include:

We Focus on Nonsurgical Methods

The core principles of chiropractic care revolves around the need for spinal alignment, comprehensive treatments, and nonsurgical options. Many people attempt to take medication to alleviate their discomfort, however, painkillers do not stop the pain, they just take away your ability to feel it. And once the medication wears off, then pain always returns. Chiropractic care takes a nonsurgical, noninvasive, and natural approach to pain relief. One very effective treatment we may recommend at RxWellness is spinal decompression.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a nonsurgical method in which the doctor uses a specially designed table, referred to as a traction table, to help realign your spine. The device is motorized and used to gently stretch the spine. Spinal decompression may be used in addition to chiropractic adjustments to relieve pain and pressure. It is very useful for treating degenerating, herniated or bulging discs.

Our Goals When Using Spinal Decompression

At RxWellness Spine & Health, we utilize spinal decompression therapy to stretch and relieve pressure of the spine. This is often done by creating negative pressure within the disc. This encourages the discs to reposition themselves, relieving pressure off the nerves. For bulging or herniated discs, it means they move back into their natural position. Spinal decompression is also useful for restoring the natural flow of nutrients within the body. The increased movement of substances inside the discs encourages healing and the removal of toxins.

What to Expect During Spinal Decompression

We want to provide a pain-free and relaxing environment in which your body becomes healthier. We want you to be completely comfortable during your time in our clean, spacious and modern office. We have our patients remain clothed during spinal compression. Once you lie down on our traction table, your hips are gently cradled within the harness. This harness is then attached near your feet at the end of the table. While the upper portion of the table remains stationary, the lower part of the table is moved gently back and forth. This precisely controlled movement provides both relaxation and traction. During the procedure, you should feel a stretch within your spine. However, you should not feel any pain or discomfort.

Our goal at RxWellness Spine & Health is to help you live a pain-free stress-free life. We focus on the health of the spine, which will help create a strong foundation that will benefit the health of the entire body.
